The DOT alerts you using light signals and a built-in speaker. The different light colors instantly tell you what kind of alert it is: a speed check (blue), a traffic situation (orange), or a hazard (red). Through the built-in speaker, you hear both a notification sound and a spoken message. The DOT features two buttons on the left and right sides, allowing you to easily report and rate alerts. It is best to attach the DOT to your dashboard or windshield. Use the included mount with a strong adhesive strip and twist the DOT onto the mount in one smooth motion. Of course, you can also place the DOT loose in your car, for example in a compartment of the center console or door.
